Join the Belgian Association of National Trust members and share your interest in the Trust with like-minded members from your area.

Our Association was founded in 1997 to prosper the work of the Trust and to promote social activities to make membership of the Trust more enjoyable.

We therefore provide you each year with several opportunities to meet fellow members: social gatherings indeed, but far more than that! We take care of making a cultural event of each meeting.

We organise one event almost every month such as castles and gardens visits, lectures on the activities of The National Trust and even concerts.
Every year we organise a trip to England to visit "behind the scenes" properties of the Trust and to attend events such as a "Fête Champêtre" in Stourhead or an open air concert at Bateman's.

Thanks to the contribution of members participating in our activities and the generosity of our sponsors, we have been able to generate every year a surplus of funds enabling us to make a sizeable donation to The National Trust for restoration works, which our Association has selected.

Rules and Procedures of our Association

How to join our Association?

  • Membership fees 2010-2011:
Members (that is, those holding membership of the National Trust in the UK): Annual fee of €20 for the first family person and €15 for any subsequent person at the same address.
Associate (that is, those not holding membership of the National Trust in the UK):  Annual fee of €30 for the first family person and €20 for any subsequent person at the same address.

  • Your membership is registered once your payment is received in our bank account 979-3907062-04 National Trust Belgium. (IBAN: BE10 9793 9070 6204 - BIC: ARSP BE 22)
Please mention ‘Membership’ or ‘Associate Membership’, as is relevant, and the names of the persons being registered.
Please make a separate payment (that is, not combined with your registration fee for an event).

  • Be sure to provide us with the necessary personal data that allows you to receive our Newsletter and other information (postal and/or e-mail address). This form can be used for this purpose.
How to participate in our outings and events?

Your participation is registered once your payment is received in our bank account  979-3907062-04 of National Trust Belgium.

Please make a separate payment for each event.
Bank transfers summing up multiple payments are difficult to decipher.

State clearly the event code and number of Members and Non-members participating (e.g. 40 M2 N1) on the transfer form, as well as your phone number for events where the number of participants is limited.

Places at events with limited numbers are allocated on a first-paid basis.

At the same time, please notify the event’s organizer, preferably by email, so that he/she has an updated list of participants. This is especially important when meals are involved.

Need to cancel your registration for an event?

If you are unable to attend an event for which you have already paid, please inform our treasurer and the event organizer (mentioned in the programme) as soon as possible. The sooner you can do this the better, as this will allow others to take your place, particularly for events where the number of participants is limited.
If you do have to cancel your participation before the event’s closing date for registration, we will refund your payment less an administrative charge of €2.5.
As a principal, refunds will not be made after the closing date. Obviously, we have committed to costs which are based on the number of participants signed up by the closing date, costs on which there is no refund.

Can Non-members participate in our events?

Non-members can participate either as guests accompanying members or associate members, or as potential members that are interested in becoming acquainted with our association.

Participation of Non-members is restricted to two occasions. After that Non-members must become full Members. (Our membership fees are quite modest!)

For events with a limited number of participants, Members will always receive priority.

For our annual UK trip, Members’ priority also applies; Non-members can register only when we have places vacant on the trip.

Our Association is steered by an enthusiastic Committee of volunteers who will be pleased to answer any questions you have.
